DST Trivia

Little known fact: DST began in 1533 with a hoax letter nailed to the gate of a French fort. The letter contained detailed instructions as to how the procedure was to be followed, and was signed "The King". Communication being what it was, much time passed before the French frontiersmen ("fron-tee-ays-min") found out that the whole thing was just a joke, and by then it was too late.
